What is the ACC Exam?

The Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential is your first step toward establishing yourself as a credible, professional coach. It validates your foundational understanding of the ICF Core Competencies, Code of Ethics, and definition of coaching.

The ACC Exam is a proctored, computer-based written exam that you can take in person at a Pearson VUE testing center or online through Pearson's OnVUE remote testing platform. It was created by coaches, for coaches, ensuring it truly reflects the standards expected of professional coaches.

60 Questions

Multiple-choice questions with four possible answers each. One correct response per question.

90 Minutes

Total exam time including an optional 10-minute break between sections.

460 to Pass

Scaled scores range from 200-600. A score of 460 or higher is required to pass.

Exam Registration Process

Before you can take the ACC Exam, you need to complete your credential application with ICF.
